As primarily an artist/designer, if you had told me when I was younger that I would end up as a bookkeeper, I would have laughed and said “yeah right!” However, I have always been drawn towards organization, finding ways to do things more efficiently, creating processes and systems – and the problem solving nature of all of those aspects. With bookkeeping I get to apply the organizational and problem solving skills that I’ve learned throughout my years as an artist to a this field. I love getting to work with small business clients as they’re all unique in what they do and what they need assistance with. It’s so fulfilling to be able to help them grow and flourish.
what are your pets’ names? My partner and I have two cats: Bella, a very round calico and Genevieve, a tiny yet spicy grey tabby!
what is the temperature in a perfect world? Between 68 and 70 – the perfect temperature to be cozy under a blanket but not too hot.
what misconception do outsiders have of your job? That it means you’re really good at math! You don’t need to be a math wiz to be a great bookkeeper.
